Bruce Gerber Obituary
AGE: 73 • Ortley Beach
Bruce Allan Gerber, 73, of Ortley Beach, NJ, passed away on July 18, 2017, at home. Born in Trenton, he lived in Morrisville, PA, before moving to Ortley Beach in 1963. Bruce was a graduate of Morrisville High School and a Coast Guard Seaman. He was a gifted self-employed photographer, and was published in both Look and Life magazines. Bruce was also a talented woodworker and lifelong "Man of the Sea". Always having owned a boat, he was happiest on the water. He was an enthusiastic Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles football fan.
Bruce is survived by his devoted wife Jane Keller Gerber; his sons, John Allan Gerber and his wife Bethany, Todd Newton Gerber, and daughter Bari Lyn Davis and her husband Mark W. Davis; his cherished grandchildren: Brett and John Andrew Gerber and Brooke Dorothy and Heather G. Davis. Also surviving are his cousins Johanna Marcinczyk and her husband John, and George Becker and his wife Merrilee of Bayville. He was predeceased by his parents John Francis and Dorothy Becker Gerber, and his infant daughter Becky.
Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home of Toms River is in charge of arrangements. Cremation is private; internment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held August 6, 3-7 p.m. at the Moose Hall, Bay Blvd. in Ortley Beach. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bruce's name to Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills or the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital for Children.
