MCABEE (Myers), Ann McCulloch
Ann McCulloch Myers McAbee, 71, of Roswell, peacefully left her loving family November 30, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and best friend to many. Ann leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Leonard Roland McAbee (Bosco); loving daughter, Amanda McAbee (Mandy); brother, Grant Myers; sisters, Gloria Williams, Gayle Hatch, and Mary Jane Medbery; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and dad, Martine and William Grant Myers, Sr.
Ann was born on July 4, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana. Ann graduated from North Springs High School in Atlanta, Georgia. After high school, she attended the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor's and master's degree in special education. She continued to further her education by receiving her Specialist from the University of North Georgia. Ann was the most dedicated educator and advocate for individuals with disabilities. Since her first teaching job in 1977 at Roswell High School, her impact on students was instant. She taught students in Fulton County Schools for 34 years at Roswell, Milton, and North Springs High School, in various positions from teacher, department head, and career intervention specialist. Ann left education briefly for three years to help create RRA. She dedicated everything to making sure that her students had opportunities after high school. Her impact on the special needs community will last forever. Ann retired from Roswell High School in 2011 as department chairman of special education and career intervention specialist.
By far Ann's greatest love was reserved for her husband, Roland, and daughter, Amanda. Their unbreakable family bond and love for one another was easy to see. Ann felt her greatest role in life was being Amanda's mother. We all saw the bond and love they had for one another and treasured every moment together. The love Ann bestowed on her family included her cats.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roswell, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Ann's memory to All About Cats Rescue and Adoption Roswell, GA,
Special Olympics of Georgia, or any organization related to helping individuals with disabilities.
