David Arnt Obituary
age 93, died February 4, 2011. Mr. Arnt was born in Lakewood, Ohio, on March 26, 1917. He retired as President and CEO of an auto parts manufacturing company in Hillsdale, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Louise, to whom he was married almost 75 years. Other survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, David and Mary Ann Winter; his grandson and wife, Kurt and Carrie Winter; three great grandchildren - Nick, Lainey and Sophie, and his canine friend, Blackie, who brought him such great joy. Mr. Arnt was a generous, thoughtful, and gracious gentleman. He was an ardent fundraiser for a variety of church, charitable and political causes, both in Michigan, and in Arizona. He loved sports, especially golf, and University of Michigan football. Private family memorial services will be held. Contributions in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by Valley Presbyterian Foundation, 6947 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253, or the Arizona Humane Society, 1521 West Dobbins Road, Phoenix, AZ 85041. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary, Scottsdale, AZ

I have had the pleasure of visiting Mr. Arnt every 3 weeks for the past 3 years to groom first his sweet boy Yorkie and now Blackie.
He was a very kind and generous man. He took good care of his dogs and they were devoted to him.
I will miss his stories, his impeccable dress, and watching him and Blackie drive off to go visit Louise in his Thunderbird!

I never had the privilege of personally meeting Mr. Arnt but I had the honor of speaking with him on the phone as secretary at his previous Church in Hillsdale, Michigan.
He was always such a "gentleman" with a generous heart and an evident love for his church. After speaking to him, I always thought what a great loss the city of Hillsdale must have had when Mr. Arnt retired to Arizona.
I extend my condolences to his wife, Louise, their children, and their children's children. I grieve with you and for you. I've prayed that our Heavenly Father will comfort your hearts until you meet him again.
