Gary Calhoun Obituary
The world has lost a truly beautiful man. Gary Ronald Calhoun, a Glendale native, rose above the pain this life so generously handed him to show kindness and compassion to all he met. His sense of humor was as wry as it was contagious. He loved music, animals and his family. Gary is survived by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Carolyn Calhoun, his daughters Lora Mavity (Mike), Kimberly Inman and Lisa Fyan (Marc), seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A celebration of Gary's life will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on October 11th at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr. in Chandler. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on October 12th at Resthaven Cemetery, south side of Northern, 6290 W. Northern Ave in Glendale. In lieu of flowers, please donate generously to Hospice of the Valley. "Take care of our critters until we join you, Grandpa."

So sorry to learn about Gary's passing. I wish that I had maintained the contact which would have allowed me to know him better as the great father and friend I knew he was to his children. He and Carolyn welcomed me into their home as a complete stranger and during the brief time that I was blessed to know him, he made me feel so though we were both blessed and fortunate to have one very special thing in common. And we did. I knew it was true then and I still believe that today as I wish my respect to be known for him. There is comfort in knowing that this life is only as a blink of the eye and people of Mr. Gary Calhoun's caliber and warmth touched lives. Even though knowing him briefly, I will always remember him. I am one of those that was lucky to have met him and his family and lost so very much the day I parted company with them. My belated and sincere condolences to Carolyn and daughter Lisa, and her sisters.

I will always cherish the wonderful memories I have of Uncle Gary. He was so kind and thoughtful. He always made me feel so special. I pray for comfort for all the family at this time.
