Susan McAfee
January 7, 1950 - August 16, 2017
Susan McAfee went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2017.
Susan (Palmquist) McAfee was born January 7, 1950, in Tracy, California. She grew up in Tracy, the fourth of five sisters. She went to college at Fresno State University, where she met her husband, Richard McAfee.
She began teaching after college but took a break while her two children were young. When she went back to teaching, she landed in the special education field, which she found she loved. She spent the rest of her career in special education, mostly as a Resource English teacher at Centennial High School. She had a big heart for her students and loved working with them.
In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, watching movies, and researching her family's genealogy. But most of all, she loved spoiling her grandson. She loved her family more than anything. She looked forward to her annual sister reunions and weekly lunches/dinners with her kids. She was always a source of encouragement for her kids, constantly believing in and supporting them.
She was a woman of faith and active in several bible studies through the years. She truly loved the Lord and was a great example for those around her.
She will be missed by many.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Minnie Palmquist; husband, Richard McAfee; and sister, Donna Fogh. She is survived by sister, Sharon Knoles; sister, Joy Sagaser; sister and brother-in-law Terri and Bobby Fagundes; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Gustavo Villanueva; son, Adam McAfee; and grandson, Richard Francisco Villanueva.
Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Saturday, August 26 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 4:00-8:00 pm.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Sue as a Resource Specialist for KCSOS. She was a good friend. She talked of her family often and was so proud of her children. I am sure her grandson was the light of her life. May god bless you and know she is still watching you from above.

Sue was always such a wonderful mentor, teacher, role model, encourager, and friend. She was professional, traditional, and rock solid in her faith. She touched many lives on campus with her caring heart and insightful words. There was no doubt that she loved the Lord and her family with an everlasting love.
