I worked with Pete in the very early '70s. It was a temporary job with the Auditor's Office and, I beleive, Pete was full time. He taught me how to program the old behemoth voting machines for the upcoming election. We were running around Whatcom County readying the voting machines in all of the different precincts and polling places. I was always amazed at the dedication and commitment that Pete had and was always sure that the machines were correct and accurate. He was zealous about his job. I worked with him and he stayed with the County and I moved on to retire from Refinery Maintenance after 32 years. I never saw Pete after that but always admired his dedication to his job. That was many years ago and I doubt if I would have recognized him on the street. Surely he wouldn't have known me either. God bless you Candace and Chris. Thought you might enjoy this very early reminiscence.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure that Pete would want you to "carry on." With my deepest sympathy.

My heart is broken at the passing of my dear brother and near "twin" in childhood years. He served his country in wartime, then served his local community for four decades as election supervisor, and was devoted to his wife, Candace, for nearly as long. Candace, I am so grateful that he had your love and devotion for so very long. He was very lucky in love.
