Each day I pick up Uncle Jim´s guitar and play a few chords, I am eternally grateful he shared the gift of music with me. Other than the occasional string change, I keep it just the way he left it, Grateful Dead pins and all.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing, he was a good man and revered by my wife and I. Jim was brilliant and had a vast knowledge on many topics of conversation. Jim's musical prowess was beyond impressive. Jim was humble and never egocentric. We had many great times together especially when we all enjoyed musical performances. Anyone who knew Jim could not deny his illuminating presence. May Jim rest in Peace and his family's bereavement be replaced with joy. Jim is at peace.

I worked with Jim. He never knew how funny he really was. We laughed a lot. Years later he helped me close on my home.
I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. You have my deepest condolences.
He made an impact in my life and I will always remember him.

I'm so sorry to have just heard of Jim's passing. We worked together for years at Lechmere. He provided lively conversation on those late night shifts. And he always treasured his family and friends. My sincere condolences to his family and all those who will miss that laugh.

Jim molded my life when he taught me to play guitar when he was stationed in Okinawa. I was in high school and he would come over on Saturdays and spend the day teaching me to play for the mere price of my mother's home cooked meal. He taught me songs that we could perform together at the USO coffee house nights. When I moved to Massachusetts in the late eighties I tried to find him but it was a time before the internet. I always wanted to thank him and let him know what a difference he made in my life. I was heartbroken today when I did an internet search and found this obituary. I love you Jim! Forever in my heart,
Stephen Lee Sawyer.
