Dear Adrienne,
Through the Navy League,I have only now learned of John's death.
May I extend my condolences to you and the family, even at this late moment.
I was his Executive Officer during his command of Navy Reserve unit NR SAMAR 1-1. It was my privilege and pleasure to have served with him. His shipmates and crew will miss him.

Dear Adrienne,

As one of the few remaining "Mooney's Alley" Falmouth group, Don and I send our prayers and sympathy to you on the loss of John. He was a good man and will be sorely missed.

You will remember that he was a member of the crew of the "MaryEllen" back in the 50's and 60's when Eddie Farrell, Gil Noonan, Jim Mooney (older and younger) Ned Livingston and Mr Geery were on board. They all had such a great time and loved each other and once in a while caught a swordfish.

Sincerely,

Sheila Farrell Hailer (and Donald)
