Sorry to hear so late that Simon has passed away. I think of him often when I use the rice maker he gave me years ago. It's still working fine! I'll always remember the respect and kindness you had towards everyone. I feel honored to have known him.

Simon was one of a kind to work with in the Assessing Department. He would answer any question you had and then would follow up with old Chinese Proverb.I would always shake his hand and say thank you sir. He was one of the smartest and hardest working of the Assessing Department. My thoughts and prayers for you and your family. May you rest in peace my friend....

It is a sad day indeed in the City of Boston! Our friend Simon was a pillar of strength each day he walked through the revolving City Hall doors. It was an honor to have worked with Simon for the past 22 years and I already miss his hello and smile each morning. May God bless your family and give them strength through these most difficult days….........and I know you will have many stories to tell Ann-Marie Tierney and Bobby Wong as they await your arrival to the heavens above!
Rest in peace my friend!

I remember the first day Simon started at Boston City Hall. It had to be the coldest day. Simon and Ted Jankowski (who became Commissioner a few years later) came schlepping into the office with their backpacks hung over their shoulders and their 'Red Baron' earmuffs covering their frost bitten ears. Simon greeted me with a very warm and cordial 'good-morning'and said to me, "you didn't expect so foreign" we both laughed, and have continued to do this for the past 23 years. Simon has been a wonderful friend, colleague and mentor in my life. My children will always remember when we dined with his friends in China Town. They still talk about it 20 years later. Simon was alway such a giving person. You could not give to Simon without him giving something in return.I see him so involved in all he does with his family and his beloved community, and also involving his co-workers in it's celebrations. The Chinatown Community has lost a true and loyal friend.I wish to express to Helen, Connie, Christine and to the other members of Simons' family my sincere condolences. Si, I am going to miss you- my very good friend...'til we me again...Rest in Peace..Grace Walsh

THANK you for your example you have set. To carry on in peace, to live daily, to handle adversity on your terms, to be gentlemanly at all times..unmatched, yet a goal for us fourty somethings to strive to be as we age. THANK you to your wonderful family for sharing a husband, father, brother, uncle with the City of Boston Assessing Dept.
