Phyllis was a very supportive and wise presence in my life when I was young and needed guidance. I will always remember her as a bright light and loving soul. May her spirit live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.

Dear Erin and family and Phyllis' mother,
It is with a heavy heart that I just learned
of Phyllis' death. Although I only knew her
for the three years my husband David and I lived in Brattleboro, she was an important friend, who helped me get my job teaching as an adjunct in the Keene State English department and also as a shoulder to cry on when my mother died in 2009. We always talked deeply and truthfully with each other, and for that and the many ways in which she extended friendship to me when I knew so few people in Brattleboro, I will be eternally grateful.
I know she is resting in peace, and I will
miss knowing she isn't cooking a wonderful meal and serving it to her many friends in her home that she so loved.
I extend my deepest sympathy,
Linda Aldrich (and David Miller)

When someone we love falls asleep in death the memories we have of them become our treasure, may those cherished memories of a life well lived and Gods promise at John 6:40 bring you a measure of peace and comfort during this most difficult time. My deepest condolences to the family.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family of Phyllis Benay during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. Psalm 116:15
