Jerry KALBACK Obituary
Age 71 of Hudson, OH, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Jerry was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Kalback of Orchard Park, NY; the son-in-law of the late Stuart and Mary VanSickle of Hamilton, ON; the beloved husband for 47 years of Jane L. (nee VanSickle); devoted father of Lindsay (Michael) Wade of Hudson and Chip (Amira) Kalback of Denver; cherished "Bompa" of Piper Wade and Ollie (Oliver) Kalback; brother-in-law of Barbara VanSickle; brother of Joyce Huen, Judy Thompson and Jon (Dorothy) Kalback. Jerry is surely sitting with his beloved Border Collie "Ivy" and checking the latest conditions for his first day of skiing. "Mr. Kalbach" was my art teacher at Lincoln School in 1974 I believe. He taught me how to draw a tree..... "you get to the end of the branch and just pick your pencil up". I´ll never forget it. Seemed so brilliant at the time. My parents bought a painting of his that hung in our dining room for years. You could always tell his paintings- so distinctive. Good memories- You will be missed.

I am saddened to just hear of Mr Kalback´s passing. Was one of my favorite teachers at Lincoln and Baker Road schools. Peace to his family.

When I heard of Jerry's passing it brought back a flood of memories of our friendship in high school at Orchard Park. Many a winter day did we spend driving to KB in his "beloved" Corvair, praying it wouldn't break down. Unfortunately we lost contact after high school. But, another close friend, John Wilson, would share updates of what Jerry was up to after high school.

Dear Kalback family,
Words can´t express the sadness we feel that Jerry passed so suddenly. The memories we have over the 31 years of being your neighbors will always bring a smile to our faces. The many times we would discuss education, our yards , or our kids will be sadly missed. We cannot make the memorial service due to being out of town, but know you are in our prayers and feel so blessed to have known such a wonderful man! God bless you all and please let us know if we can do anything to help you in the future.
