James David Sumption
62, passed away on April, 19, 2014 following a brief illness. He was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on Sept. 16, 1951, to the late James Carl and Mabel (Ackerman) Sumption.
James was a graduate of Tuslaw High School, Class of 1969. He was employed by Giant Eagle as a produce manager. James was a social member of the VFW. He had a great passion for hunting and fishing. He was never more alive than at these times.
He is survived by his children: James Brian (Kate) Sumption of Columbus and Jeffrey David (Kelly) Sumption of Dayton; four grandchildren: Jakob, Stella, Braden and Connor; two brothers, Charles E. (Mary Ann) Sumption of Massillon and Clark (Lori) Sumption of Green; two step-sisters, Marcia Basham of Canal Fulton and Becky Kidd of Massillon; step-mother, Carol Sumption of Massillon. A special thank you to lifelong friends, Danny and Vicki Kemp for the care and compassion they have shown. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Lee Sumption.
Friends and family may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon, on Thursday, April 24, 2014. from Noon- 1:00 p.m., with a celebration of life service to be held at 1:00 p.m. Messages of condolence and support may be sent to the family at:

Dear family and friends of Jim,

Knew Jim well back in the Kroger days as we were both Produce man.Then met up with him at G.E. as I was a vendor. Hard worker and a dedicated person. He will be missed by many. May God bless the family in this time of sorrow and may Jim rest in peace.
