Hello, my name is Jon King, I'm a 45 year old native of Canton, residing in Bolivar, OH.

Let me start by saying how sorry I am for your loss. As a parent, I cannot even begin to fathom your grief.

Unfortunately, I didn't know your son. I had never had the pleasure of meeting him. Yet I was touched by his death the very moment it happened.

Because not only did I hear it happen, but I also witnessed some of the aftermath just as the first responders were arriving on the scene.

Not a day has gone by since that night, that I haven't thought about Robbie and Brea, and those who love them.

The sounds and images of this accident are forever seared into my brain. And they will never go away, for as long as I live.

After hearing what a fine young man you had in Robbie, and learning of the senselessness of this tragedy, I must say, I am deeply, deeply saddened by his passing.

It appears that he touched a lot of lives in his short time here on Earth, but it his death that has profoundly touched mine. It's made me realize how fragile life is, and how unfair it can sometimes be. It has given me a better outlook on life, reminded me to cherish every moment, and take nothing for granted, as we are not promised a tomorrow.

I promise I will always keep that sweet young couple in my heart and my prayers, as well as all of their family and friends, as they deal with the grief from this senselessly tragic event.

As an instructor at Aultman College, I feel very blessed to have had Robert in a couple of my lectures and clinicals. He was a respectful young man that took instruction readily to better his performance. I would occasionally gently tease him for dozing in class after working crazy hours. He would grin that big smile and apologize. He had a big heart that was for his patients. He was on his way to become a wonderful nurse. I'm grateful to have known him, and pray comfort for his friends and family.

As part of his schooling, Rob shadowed me for a day at Aultman's Compassionate Care Hospice Center. I could tell he was going to make a great RN. He was helpful, kind, and had a great sense of humor. He eagerly jumped in to assist me with my work, and asked great questions. Please know I was greatly impressed by your son and thankful for the time we spent discussing nursing as a profession. I will keep your family in my prayers during this difficult time of adjustment.

My heart aches for your family & I am deeply saddened by the loss of such an amazing young man! There are not enough words to commend the man Rob had become in his time on Earth. The world was truly blessed with his smile, grace & kindness. His work ethic, drive, determination & dedication were outstanding! He is a man that any parent would be honored to call their son! I will pray for peace in your heart's & that you will find some comfort in knowing that Rob touched my heart in a special way @ a moment when it mattered the most... I had the pleasure of being one of Rob's instructors in nursing school. My heart is heavy for his family and everyone that cared about him. I know that he is loved greatly and will be missed a lot by his friends and classmates at Aultman College, as well as the faculty that knew him.
