Daddy It has been a little over a year that you've gone home we all still miss you so very much. There are no words how to explain how our hearts ache when we think about you being gone , but yet our hearts rejoice in the fact that one day we will see you again & the thought that you are not in pain & can breathe & you are so Happy & you are with Jesus in Heaven. What a reunion it will be the day we get to see you again I love you so very much & look forward to the day when the Lord calls my name I will see you again I think about you every day & miss your sweet smile & just to hear you say I love you one more time would be great but I will see you soon Daddy until that day we meet over there I will hold you in my heart I love you Daddy !

I worked with Alton for 11 years at Southern Bell and he was always a kind and caring gentleman. He would stop whatever he was doing to help anyone. Even though I didn't know of his passing until after the funeral; Rosemary and I were blessed to have seen both Alton and Kathy a few months ago. Our memories will always be the joy and hugs that we shared at seeing each other. Alton never said an unkind word about anyone and I never heard anyone say an unkind thing about Alton. I remember a quote that says:
"Conduct your life in such a way that in order for people to describe you will require them giving praise to God. Thank you Jesus for Alton Grayson. He finished the race, and He kept the faith. Chaplain Bill & Rosemary Matevie

Kathy and family, I wanted to be with Mott when he came to the service last week, but couldn't get away. Alton and I went from first thru 12th grade together, went to Wilson Grove Church together and he was in our wedding in 1960. And my children were with Allison at LillieMae McCall's. Pay my respects to him but I know Alton was a very Good man and The Lord has him in his house now...

It was such sad news to learn of the death of Alton. We cannot begin to recall all of the fond memories we have shared over 70 plus years as cousins. We cherish all those memories of time spent with the "North Carolina Grayson Clan" We send our heartfelt sympathy to Kathy and family and all of Altons many family members. I can think of a whole lot of people saying "welcome home". Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

As friends and fellow church members for several years we had the privilege of seeing Alton's Christ filled spirit. He was a humble person and truly an inspiration and positive influence to all. He will be truly missed.

I have such fond memories of the Grayson family at Wilson Grove Baptist Church. My father performed the marriage ceremony for Alton and his wife, and in going through Daddy's sermons and outlines after his death I found the ceremony he used at their wedding. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. May God's peace and comfort surround you during this time of grief.

Brent, just heard about your father's passing. He was always such a pleasure to talk to, I don't ever recall him having a bad day. I will never forget his cabinet deliveries on the four wheeler... There is peace in the hearts of all who knew him.

Alton was my cousin and my hero as a young boy growing up. I never would have guessed we would in later years work on projects together in Corporate Communications at Southern Bell/Bellsouth. Alton was always the perfect gentleman and great guy. I only realized a few days ago that he was sick and I was so sad to open paper and find he had passed. I am just home recovering from knee replacement surgery and even sadder will no be able to attend his service. I loved Alton and he will always be special and remembered by me. May God be with all his family.

I'm sorry to here about Alton's passing and that I will not be able to be at the funeral. I was one of Alton's cousin from his mother's side of the family. While we were in school I always felt that Alton was a Godly man and will be missed by you and the children.

When I learned of the news, I was deeply sad for you both. I have prayed for your strength as God can fill you both with His perfect love. My heart goes out to you. Alton was a very nice and pleasant man. I had the priveledge to get to know him when you brought your dad to our weekly lunches. He had such a positive outlook on life and I enjoyed getting to know him. Brent, you reflect the image of your father and I know he is proud of you for who you are and what you have done with your life and family.

A wonderful man he was; I had the privilege to serve as one of his pastor's for 10 years. May God hold you Kathy in the palm of His hand as you celebrate the life of your wonderful husband.
