I have colorful memories of Dr. Mollie Davis and the classes she taught at Queens. I took many courses from her, including a history of the Vietnam War. Dr. Davis was a caring professor and wonderful raconteur, full of stories about Democratic politics, the state of Georgia, her life experiences and her family. She was generous with her time, writing me letters of recommendation. To her relatives and friends, I’m sorry for your loss. I know I will be remembering her warmly as I watch the upcoming presidential inauguration.

My mother spoke with Mollie almost weekly and I loved hearing their conversations. They were cousins and both were named Mollie after their Aunt Mollie. My mother always had the phone on speaker and they would go on and on joyfully about their love of family, history and politics. We will be moss her voice in our household and know she is rejoicing with a grand crowd in Heaven. Condolences to the children. Our love to you all.

Dr. Mollie was a really great teacher and friend. I am so sorry to hear that she has passed. Yet I know she will be leaning rallies with the angels. I shall truly miss her.

Mollie Davis was the best history teacher I ever had in 18 years of school. Mostly because she lived it! Her vibrant stories kept us engrossed. Some funny, some sad. This is truly a sad day for me. She was a doll.

My sincerest condolences are with her family at this time. She was a special lady. I am saddened to hear this. She was one of my favorite professors and she encouraged me to pursue my studies in History after graduating from Queens in 1991.
