Richard Bray Obituary
The son of Richard Van Bray and Marjorie Macomber Bray, Richard was born and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He received his early education at Charlotte Country Day School, followed by high school at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. Richard attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago. Prior to his career in business and finance, Richard served his country with two tours in Vietnam in the 174th Aviation Company of the US Army.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, his beloved sister Mia, and his nephew Johnse Bray. He is survived by his devoted fiancé, Mary Moen; his children, Marjorie McDowell and her husband Scott McDowell, and Richard Bray and his wife Izabella Bray; his cherished granddaughter, Claudia Bray; his brothers, Philip and Lawrence Bray; his nephews, Peter Faulkner and Kirke Bray; his niece, Katharine (Katie) Faulkner; and his grandniece, Anna Bray.
A memorial service will be held on his birthday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard's name to the Levine Cancer Institute.

Sending thoughts and prayers to the family at this time of sorrow. Richard was a gentleman and a fun guy.. I met Richard through Bible Work Bench, now Reading Between the Lines at Myers Park Baptist Church many years ago. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, buy Richard's light will always shine. Rest in Peace, my Friend.
