John E. Stroth, age 93, of Oak Park; beloved husband of 61 years of the late Melita L. Stroth; loving father of John, Will (Lauren Strzalka), Peter (Mary) Stroth, Elizabeth (John) Slaten, Miles (Kristin) Stroth, Mia (Brian) Williams and the late Matthew and Paul Stroth; cherished grandfather of Eileen (Nick) Cornell, Madeleine, Bridget (Hayata) Nakamura and Daniel Stroth, Savannah and Miles Slaten, Melita and Finbar Stroth, Colin, and Alexa and Ariel Williams; great grandfather of Benjamin, Nicholas and Maxwell Nakamura; dear brother of the late Betty (the lake Michael) Esposito and the late Agnes (the late Raymond) Sisco; dear brother-in-law of the late Miles (the late Judy) Lynch; fond uncle of many. John was a graduate of Fenwick High School, Oak Park, IL and Loyola University, Chicago, IL. John served honorably in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956 at White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico. He was a member and past president of Local 750, Treasurers and Ticket sellers Union. Visitation Tuesday, October 19th from 3 – 9 p.m. at The Elms Funeral Home, 7600 W. Grand Ave., Elmwood Park, IL. Funeral Prayers 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 20th at the funeral home to St. Giles Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Private interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
