I knew Ray since the early 1970's when I was 9 years old. To me, he was truly a positive example of a real man with strength of mind, body, character, soul, and faith; love of family and friends, a genuine heart for people; a generous and encouraging spirit. Great business acumen. A true gentleman. He was a man who made a very positive and long lasting impression on me. I will always be grateful to him for this. May God bless all of you .

Our sincere condolences to the family of Mr Ray Benson. We shared an enjoyable hobby, one that he shared with many other persons who looked up to him. He was always encouraging and took interest in me and my collection, however small that it was compared to his. The pictures show a large and very handsome family that he was surely very proud of. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Bensons, I am so sorry to learn that your beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away. What a wonderful man! My childhood Watervale memories of him are that he stood out from the many nice dads there not only because of his physical stature, but also his strength of character, not that I could have named that as a child. His calm and smiling face is what will always come to mind when I think of him. Love, Debby

I grew up next door, Kirk and I were very close childhood friends, it seemed as though I was at the Benson's more than home. What an incredible man - always so kind, smiling and doing his best to overlook our mini bike tracks through the yard, our raucus playing on the trampoline. I can only think of wonderful thoughts of Ray. June, I hope your mind is at peace with memories of a remarkable lifetime together.

A great family friend for decades to my Dad(Fred), my Mom(Donna Jean), my stepfather(Robert Wichser) and sister(Cheryl Frandsen). We were luck and fortunate to share time with this true gentleman and his family, as recently as September 2018. Ray gave me my first job in High School in the Chicago area doing construction and I will never forget those summers, nor his wonderful friendship to all of us. My father never had a dearer friend. The baseball team in Heaven just got better with Ray and my dad on the same team again. With sympathy, love and friendship to your family, for all you brought our family.

Mr. Ray was an inspiration to me. I always looked forward to seeing him, no matter the occasion. Always in awe by the things he could remember. Amazed by how he not only got himself around but the love he showed in getting Mrs. June around also. I enjoyed seeing the light in his eye when he would talk about his family and enjoyed observing his pride when with them. Im happy to have known him in the small way that I did. I will miss seeing him working on his puzzles, writing or visiting with his family and friends. Ill miss him, but am grateful to have known him.

Im blessed to know and befriend many of this beautiful Benson family. My heart hurts for yours. Wishing you all endless warmth, healing and prayers.

Ray was an inspiration to me and held a unique position in my family - he was my "double cousin". He was my first cousin on my father's side (our fathers were brothers) and he was my second cousin on my mother's side of the family (our mothers were first cousins). He will be remembered by many as a kind, thoughtful, generous and an interesting person but in addition, I will always remember Ray as a very dedicated and devoted family man. "No one ever dies until there is no one left to remember. And when there is no one left to remember, it means we are all together again." (Author Unknown)
