Sharon Rhoads 1951-2022 Sharon Rhoads, 71, of Clarinda, Iowa, formerly of New Market, Iowa passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Azria Health, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Nodaway Valley Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Russ Clark officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10 , 2022 at Nodaway Valley Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will be in the Memory Cemetery, New Market, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Memories can be shared with the family at www.nodawayvalleyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements were entrusted to the Nodaway Valley Funeral Home of Clarinda. Sharon Kay (Crowdy) Rhoads was born February 22, 1951, in Corning, Iowa to George Ames Crowdy and Mary Josephine (Hall) Crowdy. Most of her childhood years were spent on a farm near Morton Mills, Iowa. She also lived and attended schools in New Market, Iowa and Woodward, Iowa. Sharon attended high school in Woodward and later received her GED. She was united in marriage to Steve Reed, and they were blessed with two children, Mike and Amy. Sharon received her CNA certification. She was a residential treatment worker at Woodward State Hospital. Following her move to New Market, she provided home health care for Nurses On Call. In 1989, Sharon was janitor at the New Market Community School until its closing. Sharon was a member of the New Market Church of Christ. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her children and grandchildren, playing card games, going to the Lake of Three Fires, and the yearly family reunions and celebrating holidays. She was known to give family members nick names that stuck with them. Sharon enjoyed summer gatherings with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the life of the party at all family gatherings. Sharon also loved animals, especially cats and she also had her favorite dogs. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Crowdy and brother, Carroll Gene Crowdy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Micheal Dean Reed and wife Marlene of New Market, Iowa and Amy Reed of New Market, Iowa; grandchildren, Tyler Micheal Reed and wife Anna, Tristan Ames Reed, Sabaen Kay Reed, Brianna Ann Reed, Anthony Curtis Webb, Brittany Micheal Reed, Keaton Riley Barnes; great grandchildren, Maddox Tyler Reed and Bennett Kayler Reed; nieces, Carey Lynn Crowdy, Kym Crowdy, Cindy Madison; nephews, Mike Crowdy, Bryan Crowdy; brother, Darrell Ray Crowdy and wife Evelyn, Gary Dean Crowdy and wife Dorie; several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
