I worked with W.C. years ago at the Nebraska Legislature. He was smart, caring, and very funny. Working with him was one of the best things about that job. Everyone loved him. To Barbara and his family -- I am so sorry for your loss. He was one terrific guy!

I was a page for the Nebraska Legislature when WC was a Fiscal Analyst. When I was undecided about applying for law/graduate school at the University of Texas, he told me "Not to decide is to decide." That advice changed my life! (I applied, was accepted, and the rest is history.) He was a cherished friend! What a loss!

I was a page for the Nebraska Legislature when Bill worked for the Legislative Fiscal Analyst's office. He was the one who encouraged me to apply for law/graduate school at the University of Texas - Austin. That advice changed my life. So sorry to learn of his passing ... Just an unforgettable guy!

I'm sorry for your loss, Barbara. I only saw Bill a handful of times, but he was so easy to talk to that it was like seeing an old friend.

Commitment to troubled kids were his first priority - I was Dave Alexinas' exec. sec., but recd WC's weekend memo's - he never stopped working. Had a true love of cowboy boots and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Always asked for folks input and made you feel like an integral part of team regardless of position. He was there for you in good times and bad sending flowers in loss of my mother and miscarrage and they were the largest most beautiful arrangements ever received. WC was the salt of the earth and I will surely miss him. I just can't wonder what his first words where to Clemente in heaven...praying for his family

Working with Bill and getting one of his yellow cards is one of the best memories I have of him when he was at DRC. He was supportive and encouraging and a great person with whom to work.
My prayers are with his family.

WC, I will forever be thankful and grateful for all you have done for me; both personally and professionally. You allowed me to grow and made it possible for me to be able to really have a positive impact on the kids entrusted to our care. I will always love you and I'm sure I will see you later...Lee

WC was a kind, gentle man who kept Ohio's children first. He will also be known for working in his socks because according to him "I do my best work when I am comfortable".
May God Bless WC and your family.

I will miss WC. He was indeed a mentor, an advocate for at risk kids, and a friend. I will never forget his shoeless shuffle. Prayers to the family.
