Robert Vance Burden

Evansville, IN - Robert Vance Burden, 58, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Linda E. White Hospice House from complications of a heart attack.

Rob was born February 7, 1961 to the late Donnie and Lenora (Cain) Burden. Rob retired from the Madisonville Police Department after 25 years of service. After his retirement, he worked as a confinement officer at the VOA.

Rob is survived by his wife of 12 years, Nancy (Will) Burden; six children, Hannah, Khyllee, Robert Dustin, Colton, Elleanora and Cadence Burden; a niece, Hailey Rhea; as well as five stepchildren. He was known as "Poppy" to all of his grandchildren.

Rob was an avid motorcyclist, and enjoyed playing the guitar and camping with family. He was a member of FOP Lodge 73 and the Riverbend Association.

There will be a celebration of Rob's life held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at FOP Lodge 73, 801 Court Street, Evansville, IN from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Dress is casual.

Rob's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Courtney Bender, her nurse Ally and Rob's 3900 ICU nurse Melissa P. for all of their compassionate care.
