Effinger
Poseyville, Ind. — Thomas Leo Effinger, 86, of Poseyville, Indiana, born November 19, 1924 to Leo and Amanda (Bender) Effinger in Poseyville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his residence.
He was owner operator of Effinger Appliances in Poseyville since 1945 and a 1942 graduate of Poseyville High School. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific from 1943-1946.
Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother: Verlin Effinger.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years: Marian (Dewig); 5 sons: John (Jada) Effinger of Paragon, Indiana, Joe (Denise) Effinger of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Michael, Tom (Marietta) both of Poseyville, and Patrick (Diana) Effinger of Crossville, Illinois; a daughter: Kathryn (Gary) Dewig of Haubstadt, Indiana; 5 grandchildren: John, Jamie, and Joseph Dewig, Jennifer Heavrin, and Alexander Effinger: and one great-grandchild Shawn Robert Heavrin.
Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville with burial in the church cemetery in Poseyville, Indiana. Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Visitation will be from 3-7PM, Friday, May 27, 2011 with a rosary service to be at 7:00PM at the Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Francis Catholic Church or VNA Hospice

Mine and Toms' parents were very close. Did lots of WW1 activities together-----------------feel sure our parents discussed the "kids". My sympathy to the famiy.
