Joseph Braca Obituary
Joseph F. Braca, 82, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 58 years of Annette (Paola) Braca. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of John A. Braca, Sr. and Mary (D'Amore) Braca. Survivors include three children, Stephanie Mulreed and husband, Jeffrey, Christopher Braca and Sara Braca; a brother, John Braca, Jr. (Patricia); and two cherished grandsons, Kevin and William Mulreed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m., directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Sunday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or the National Parkinson Foundation. Dear Annette and family, my heart is aching with the news that my childhood friend has passed on. We met each other in the 1950s as members of Saint Raphael´s CYO... and we remained friends through the years. During my years as an associate pastor at Saint Lawrence, I was blessed to be able to minister to Joe and his family. The past several years were very difficult for him. I guess you could say that it was his purgatory here on earth. I pray that he is now with the saints in heaven. I´m offering masses this weekend for him at my parish here in Florida.
My thoughts and prayers are also with you , Annette, and your family. Your husband and father was truly one in a million. Looking forward to the day when I´ll be seeing him again.

Joe and I attended Central High School together but it was when I joined our reunion committee that I had the pleasure to get to know Joe. Joe was a vital part of our committee and a very kind and gentle soul. My sincere condolences to Annette and their three children. May he rest in eternal peace.
