Patrick Grella Obituary
September 18, 1941 – October 16, 2025
Patrick Rocco Grella, born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 18, 1941, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025.
Pat was a proud graduate of Harding High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Bridgeport. He retired from Flygt Corporation, a division of ITT, after a distinguished career.
A lifelong learner with a passion for language and culture, Pat loved studying Italian and other languages. Together with his beloved wife, Linda Agnes Betz (deceased January 11, 2022), he traveled the world, creating cherished memories and lifelong friendships along the way.
He was predeceased by his parents, Pasquale Grella and Angelina Pratola Grella. He is survived by his brother Robert Grella (Mary) of MA, and sister Judy Grella Acosta (Joseph) of CT.
Patrick leaves behind his daughters Suzanne Grella of CT; Bethann Grella (Sander van Erk) of Brussels, Belgium; and Melissa Skovdal (Soren) of TN. He was a proud grandfather to Jessica Kuckel (Andrew), Sebastian and Tristan van Erk, Sorina and Tyler Skovdal, and great-grandfather to Sophia and Brooklyn Kuckel. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Pat will be remembered for his intellect, curiosity, devotion to his family, and the joy he found in exploring the world. Private services for family will be held.
