William Ray Obituary

William M. Ray
William (Bill) M. Ray, age 78, passed from this world on Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on May 11, 1944 to Harry and Hilda Ray (Waite) of Stratford, CT. Bill is survived by his four sons: Eric Vere and partner, Bobby, Michael Vere and partner, Leslie, Billy Ray and spouse, Orlando, and Robert Ray and spouse, Rebecca; and grandchildren: Kai, Britney, Jada, Jordyn, Dylan and Jenna Ray. He is also survived by his brother, Harry Ray and spouse, Dollie; sister, Betsy and spouse, John. Bill was predeceased by his nephew, Jason. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as his high-school sweetheart and partner to the end, "his" Amy.
Bill graduated from Bunnell High School in 1962 and went on to a successful career at Lacey Manufacturing, where he was viewed as a beloved leader and mentor. He really cared for his employees and their lives. He retired from Lacey in 2003 and moved to Jupiter, Florida. Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, cars and eating, not necessarily in that order. He was the life of the party and loved to make people laugh. Bill was a lifetime member of the Pequonnock Yacht Club and also a Free Mason at the Ashler-Aspetuck Mason Lodge #142 of Easton.
Bill resided in Stratford with Amy for the past three years, where they enjoyed their boat, the Full Circle.
The family is indebted to his aides and friends, Mimi and Freddy, who were such a comfort to him.
Services will be held Friday, October 14 at 11 a.m. at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield. To offer the family condolences, please visit www.dennisanddarcy.com

Dear Harry, Dollie, and the entire Ray family,

I was very sorry to read in today´s CT Post that Bill had passed away. Bill was a very special person and a really great guy. He was a very good friend to my late husband, Dave. Many times, Bill kept Dave working doing various carpentry jobs for Lacey Mfg. which my husband really appreciated. I know Bill will be greatly missed by all his friends and family and especially by Amy, his devoted partner. Bill lived life to the fullest. May he now rest in eternal peace and joy.
