As the oldest of the cousins, born 8 13 1933, I should have maintained contact with the members of the group. It became more and more difficult as the years went by. My memories of Uncle Van and Aunt Georgina are more vivid than of Bruce. He was 7 when I went off to college. I did spend a few minutes with him at the time of Aunt Pearl´s funeral. I can tell you that I will feel a bittersweet sense of sorrow from now on.

Dear Doris and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Bruce´s passing. My thoughts remain with you.
One of my greatest regrets is that I lost contact with a Schaeffer cousin.
With sympathy,
Lois Schaeffer Boericke
