RICHARD S. COLLINGBOURNE

1930 - 2018

ELGIN - Richard S. Collingbourne, 87, of Elgin passed away on January 28, 2018. He was born on November 10, 1930 in Elgin to Albert and Agnes Collingbourne. On November 7, 1964 he married Judy (nee Burnidge) Collingbourne. Richard graduated Valedictorian from Elgin Academy in 1948. He then went to the University of Wisconsin Madison, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in business and a Doctorate degree in law. During his spare time he enjoyed studying genealogy, going to garage sales, coaching little league, camping and spending time with his family who he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Richard, Jr. (Gigi), Bill, Tom (Amy), Mary (Mike) Kral; his grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Grace, Claire, Caitlyn, Holly, Nick (Megan), Amanda (Rich), Michael, Jack, Lukas, and Julia; great grandchildren, Hailey, Stephen, Isaac and Ian; siblings, Mary, Margaret, Carole, Nancy, Al, Frank (Judy). He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Pat, Naomi and a twin brother, Tom. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10 AM at Laird Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Gibson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM and again on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JourneyCare or to a charity of one's choice.
