News Death Notice

BAKER, Robert F. "Bobby" of Kettering, OH, passed away, Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Lincoln Manor. He was born in Hazard, KY, on December 9, 1925, to the late Bert and Naomi Baker. Bobby always loved basketball. At age 9, he became the "water boy" for the Hazard Bulldogs. He played high school basketball for Hazard and college basketball for Morehead State University and the University of Missouri. Prior to college, he spent twenty-eight months in the Hospital Corps with the United State Navy during World War II. He graduated from Morehead State University, received certification in Library Science from Miami University, and earned a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Xavier University. He was both a teacher and Guidance Counselor in the Trotwood Madison School System. He was also a Real Estate Broker. Bobby loved music of his era and owned a large collection of big band record albums. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, best friend and "soul mate", Hazel Baker; his brother; his sister; his 4 beautiful dogs, Angel, Swag, Preppy, and Buttons. He is survived by a very special and devoted nephew, Donald Pratt, his wife Shirley and their family. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, April 20th, at the Germantown Union Cemetery. Dalton Funeral Home, Germantown serving the family.
