Brandy Terrill

Berlin - Brandy Terrill -47, of Berlin, MD passed away peacefully at her home with loved ones by her side on Wed Jan. 13, 2021. She fought hard to beat an aggressive liver cancer that was detected in Sept 2020. She had no fear - because her faith was taking her home.

Brandy was born in Baltimore but spent her life in Salisbury and Berlin, MD.

Brandy graduated from Parkside High School in 1991. Her love of education - took her to Salisbury University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in 1994 — and her Master's degree in Education in 2000. Driven to succeed - Brandy earned her Doctorate at the University of Delaware in Curriculum, Technology and Higher Education in 2011.

Brandy began her teaching career at The Salisbury School before returning to Salisbury University as a lecturer in 2005. She advanced to the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Early and Elementary Education in 2011. Brandy's professional passion was in integrating the arts into the classroom. In 2019 she was awarded the Faculty Appreciation Award for the Seidel School of Education. This was a particular point of pride, as it is an award voted on by former students. Brandy impacted many lives via her creative teaching style.... with many students thanking her — for her contribution to their success.

Brandy's personal passions were her love for her daughter (Ali), her church , family and many friends.

Brandy could always be found at Ali's many sporting events. Her creativity added to really special birthday parties for her daughter.

Brandy brought many lives together over the years creating lifelong friendships among strangers. Her smile invited all to be friends.

Brandy is survived by her daughter - Alice (Ali) Jo Terrill born in 2007, mother and stepfather- Joann and Dennis Marine, father- AJ Starkey III, and half-brother - Adam Starkey.

Brandy was preceded in death by her brother - John Duke Starkey in 2009, grandparents: Bud and Betty Starkey, Henry and Alice Degen, Al and Carolyn Marine.
