Terrie Townsend Obituary
Salisbury-Terrie Lynn Townsend, 59, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Roman William Thornes, Sr. and "Jackie" Swift Thornes.
Terrie worked at K-Mart for 35 years, retiring in 2011 as an office lead. She attended Pittsville Full Gospel and Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed holidays, flowers, out-door activities with her family, and especially spending time with her granddaughter.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years, Gary M. Townsend; a daughter, Corrie Adkins & husband, Sean of Salisbury; a granddaughter, Hayden Adkins; 4 siblings, Tom Pasquith & wife, Cathy of Delmar, MD, Bill Thornes, Jr. & wife, Carla of Delmar, DE, George Thornes & wife, Donna of Salisbury, and Paula Bell & husband, Tommy of Pittsville; an aunt, Betty Sterling & husband, Howard of Crisfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park with Pastor Linda Lane officiating. The family would like to request those attending to be in casual attire for Terrie.
Contributions may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful care given to Terrie by the Oncology Unit at PRMC.

So sorry for your loss, Terrie was a wonderful & friendly person when we worked together at Kmart. She will be truly missed, but just know that "to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord". She is no longer suffering and resting peacefully in God's arms.
