Sandra Lomker Obituary
Rochester/Long Lake: Passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12th, 2016 at age 79. Predeceased by husband, Werner Lomker. Survived by her loving partner, Tom Cornell; children, Werner (Angela) of Fergus, Ontario, Gary (Barbara) of St. Louis, Andrew (partner Rich Coy) of Rochester and North Fort Myers, Sheryl Zenzen (Paul Conroy) of Romulus and Albion, and Lori (Joe) Rayburn of Honeoye; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, Fred (Joan) Ellis of NJ.; Tom's children, Steven (Karen) of Maine, David (Anita) of Scottsville, Karen of Webster, Dan (Rosario) of Denver, his 7 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life 1 PM on Wednesday, July 6th at Harry Allen Park, Honeoye Falls, NY. Reception at Rabbit Room until 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Monroe County 4-H, Westside YMCA of Rochester, Cameron Community Center or any youth/family organization of your choice. I just heard the sad news. Sandy was such a dynamic, loving person. I am so grateful to have known her. We had such a wonderful circle of friends -- Sandy and Tom and Werner, The Witzels, the Buttons, and my Ray, too. God bless her family.

"Mrs. Lomker" was such an amazing person & impacted the lives of countless young people over the years.
4-H was for me what Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts were for many others. It's where I first learned about teamwork. Where I was pushed to take on the challenging and the uncomfortable. Many of my strongest memories from my youth happened as a 4-Her.
I have Mrs. Lomker to thank for memories of the 1984 Summer Olympics in LA. Learning to play polo. Riding Belgians (glorious draft horses) bareback down the midway at the NYS Fair. Various public speaking and Horse Bowl competitions that were terrifying and gut-wrenching at the time.
As a Happy Horseman alumni, I will never forget her and the mark she left on my life.
