Jolynn and Linda,
I was so sad to read about Billy's passing. I know this is a tough time for your family so I will be praying for God to help you all through it.
I'm not sure if you remember my daughter Cora Cates. She lost her dad almost 2 years ago and she would really like to talk to Wade. Please contact me.

I offer my condolences to the Behringer family. I worked at the Sheriff's Office and worked with Billy and met his father at Cold Springs when I was sent there due to a shortage of personnel. My husband passed two days before Billy and I know that God is rejoicing with his children that have been called home. I remember Behringer and Lindsey picking up the inmates to go for laundry detail. May God bless both of our families as we wait to be called up Yonder.

I am a distant cousin of Blake's dad, James & hold fond memories in my heart of him, Ramey Nell & my Aunt Ora from my childhood. We last saw Jim & Ramey both at my Mother's services in 2001& lovingly greeted & thanked them for being there. They were wonderful people & I was happy to have spent time with them back in Wichita Falls long ago. My husband, Bobby & I are so saddened to hear this news about the loss of their precious son they talked about so lovingly, who came as a blessing to them later in their lives. Our sincere condolences to the family of this wonderful young man, gone way too soon. May he rest in peace & you find comfort in what wonderful memories you must have. Please give our love to his Dad, we know as James - and know that you will all remain in our prayers. Sincerely,
Wanda Jean (Richardson) & Bobby Hawkins

To: James,Kay,Lydia&the rest of our family...
I am really saddened about Blake's passing, especially for his wife and kids. As the days, weeks, months&years go on,he will also cross my mind, especially at our yearly family reunions. I'll always remember the family reunions back in the 70's when that ole daredevil would go down hill on his BIGWHEEL,and later on in the years helping serve food w/his dad at the reunions.Yes, his blue eyes and smile crosses my mind...

To my special friends Jim & Kay, JoLynn and Boys,
Larry and I wish we could be with you at the service for Blake, but our prayers and thoughts will have to due instead. He will defiantly be missed down here on earth, but the promise of our Heavely Father tells us we will meet him again. And this time he will have a new body without the pain or problems of cancer. Without a shadow of a doubt he was greeted with opened arms by his wonderful mother, Ms. Ramey and then our Lord and Saviour! We know that there will be a time of sadness, sorrow and mourning that you will have to indure. But please remember that you are loved and that spirit filled christian friends are praying for you at all times. I will personally miss Blakes smile, jokes and all around big hearted spirit when he entered a room. Eveytime I worked on the Church directory, He made it fun when he brought the family in for their portrait. Thank you for raising such and fine young man with such a zest for life.
We Love you all,
The Jones Family (Larry, Karen, Kim & Tim) Arlington, Tx

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I grew up across the street from Blake for a while, and we got into a lot of trouble together. Almost half of that trouble was actually Blake's doing. I'm attaching a picture from our High School annual that Blake had a hand in creating. The picture is appropriate for Blake, I always remember him with a knowing smile on his face.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

My Thoughts & Prayers go out to the Family. I will never forgot how Blake talked to my late husband(Leon)after having his colon removed. That meant so much to the two of us.
God Bless
