Daniel Jensen Obituary

Daniel Mark Jensen
July 24, 1955 - December 5, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - Daniel (Danny) Mark Jensen, 66, of Fort Worth passed on December 5, 2021.
He graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio in 1973. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 1977 he attended Texas Christian University and earned a Master of Liberal Arts. He married Lynette Walker Jensen in 1983 and had two children, Dane Michael Jensen and Abigail Elaine (Jensen) Bittle.
He joined the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1984 as Director of Development and Executive of Director of the Foundation. In 1990 he became the Vice President for Governmental Affairs. Throughout the next 37 years, he spearheaded legislative strategy that was central to the growth of what is now the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (HSC). Danny went on to ultimately become the Associate Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations at UNT System.
As a direct contact to local, state, and federal officials, Danny's voice carried the HSC story into offices, hallways and meeting rooms across Fort Worth, Austin, and Washington D.C.
A kind, fun-loving, friend and father, Jensen was best known for his jovial personality and big heart. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. You would often find Danny on the golf course collaborating with other community leaders about strategies and partnerships to advance HSC, the City of Fort Worth and beyond. Danny's favorite saying was "Every day is a Holiday!" a message he delivered joyfully and with his big-as-Texas smile.
Jensen's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with as well as those he reached but never met. Jensen is survived by his son, Dane Jensen of Los Angeles, Ca., daughter, Abee Jensen Bittle of Arvada, Co., Lynette Jensen of Cuchara, Co. and brother David Jensen of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Harold Jensen of Kalispell, Montana, and Elaine White Jensen.
A Celebration of Life for will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, at Colonial Country Club where friends and family are welcome to share stories of remembrance and celebrate all he did to make the world a better place.

Danny was a Sigma Nu fraternity brother of mine at Texas Tech University. The writer of his obituary described Danny to a tee. He was always in a great mood and his glass was always half full. I haven´t seen Danny in many years and his passing was shocking. I´ll catch up with you in heaven Danny boy!
