Jack was a man of character, he made everyone feel special and respected. I remember leaving corporate to head to Fort Worth and he came to check up on me. This act of kindness has never gone unnoticed.

I only met Jack a few times. And I remember each one. He was a gracious man. It makes me sad that he left his family at such an early time. I still think of him and rejoice to know he is at home with our Saviour.

I am saddened by news of Jack's passing. I worked with Jack at Harris Methodist where we worked together for several years. I am blessed each day for having known him and the assistance he provided me in my work there. Jack was truly a special person and his loss leaves a hole that is difficult to fill. My prayers are for his family, No need to pray for Jack he is in the hands of the Great Physician. God speed my friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jack's family. I have worked for THR for 36 years but only met Jack in meetings during the conversion. I have to agree, when he came into the room he had your attention, later I did find his humorous side. Jack is now going to be with the Lord and I know he will truly be missed by his family and friends. May God be with you all.

I started at THR a couple of years out of high school and I remember the first time that I met Mr. Roper. I was this twenty year old kid and he walked into the room and had such a presence about him - I was in awe! From that moment on, he was someone that I truly respected and admired. A few years later he called me on the phone to ask for advice – he was calling ME for advice – wow, that moment meant more than he would ever know. He was extremely supportive and challenged you to be better than you thought you could. Accountability was very important to him. I don't believe I ever saw Jack raise his voice, he didn't have to. He had a way of calmly saying the right thing or pausing at the right moment to get his point across. He meant so much to so many people. He will be missed!

Jack is a friend and mentor. His personal and professional life was a standard I used to hold myself accountable. He gave me opportunity after opportunity to grow and was always there to help resolve issues. He would hold me accountable but always with kindness and encouragement. Even last week as we exchanged text messages, he was hopeful and thankful. We often would share stories about our kids and grands. His love for his family was always evident. A man after God's heart. I will miss his friendship and his wisdom.
