Jerry Easterwood Obituary

Jerry Mark Easterwood, 35, of Springtown passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in Biggers Funeral Chapel in Lake Worth. Interment: Mark will be laid to rest in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home. Those attending the funeral are encouraged to bring their coolest ride (classic car, rat rod, motorcycle, etc.) as we want the procession to be an awesome tribute to Mark. Memorials: A tax-deductible memorial fund has been established in Mark's name for the benefit of his girls and may be accessed through www.crowdfeeding.org. He met the love of his life, Christy Spurlock, in high school. Their fairy-tale wedding in 2001 set the stage for the amazing life they were to share. In time, they welcomed three precious daughters, Shelby, now 12, and twins Emily and Layce, 11. Survivors: In addition to Christy and the girls, he leaves behind his mother, Kim Jordan Goeppinger and stepfather, Gary; father, Jerry Easterwood and stepmother, Gladys; grandparents, Jess and Margo Jordan, Dolores Wellborn, Rheamon and Portia Lewis, Lois Rippetoe and Roger Easterwood and wife, Pat; several stepsiblings; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hey Mark it's Jeanette. I've been thinking about you lately and your family. I wish we didn't grow apart over the years I would have loved to be the cool aunt to your girls! Lol! Since my sister can't have kids and my other brother Marcus can't either you are the only way I became an aunt!!! You were my brother even separated over the years I never forgot about you or your mom. Loosing you and my cousin Valerie not too long after woke me up to all the family I've been neglecting and how important they are. I grew apart from both of you over the years but I will never forget. Then loosing my mom has been hard I wish I could tell you in person how much it meant to me that your mom was there for my mom <3 Well it looks like you did good with your girls I'm proud of you for that! Anyway that's all.

I knew Mark (Grandson) through the car hobby. He was Jess's right hand man kind of like I am with my dad. Because of that we were often working together on car deals. I am a younger guy so I sometimes felt out of place with the car guys but I will never forget how Mark treated me like a total equal at all times. He would joke around, laugh, and treated me like we were best friends. I never saw him without a smile on his face. He will be missed by many. My condolences to his family.
