I just found out today that we lost Mike in May and I'm heatbroken. We bought three cars from Mike at Park Place, and I have to say he was the kindest, most trustworthy salesperson we've ever dealt with. Tho we didn't know as much about his personal life, just the vibe he gave out said he was TRULY a good guy! You know, you can just tell! We just want the family to know how much we liked Mike, appreciated his humor and expertise, and most of all trusted him and thought we would have him forever. We're thinking of you all tonite -- thank you for sharing him with us and our family's hearts are with you own your loss. ❤

Chasen, as you probably know, Mike and I had the opportunity to work together for almost 14 years, and while our relationship was not the robust of all, I believe that we had many years of a respective working relationship. The thing that always struck me about Smitty, was his undying commitment to being a free spirt, and his undying love and commitment to his kids and grandkids...he will be greatly missed. I had every intention of attending the service but am still in the hospital having had an emergency gall bladder operation. My spirit will be with you folks tomorrow and Mike knows the special feeling I have for him will follow him across the eternal horizon my eternal respect and thoughts as well. Rest well old friend

Dear Family and Friends,
I have known Smitty for 39 years. I was the window trimmer at then "Henry's Jean Scene" and came in every other Thursday afternoon to change out all the merchandise in the windows. Smitty always acted like he dreaded seeing me because it meant extra work by having to re-hang and restock all those clothes. (Henry's had a lot of windows. They stretched all the way across the store and the stockroom/office area.) I always loved his crazy sense of humor and knew he really didn't dread every other Thursday. I did the windows for about 10 years and then was able to keep up with Smitty when buying my last two cars from him. All my memories of Smitty are fond ones and maybe a few sarcastic ones too! Sincerely, Becky Green

Robyn, Chasen and family my heart goes out to you. I spent lots of lake and fun times with Mike growing up. I will never forget him taking me on bike rides and covert boat rides as a kid. He was a great man and will be missed by all that knew him. I am so sorry I will not be able to be there for services but know I am with you in spirit. I love you guys.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. My heart just aches, I can only imagine the tremendous sense of loss you are experiencing right now. Your Dad was an incredible guy. He was smart, talented, witty, humorous, professional, passionate and caring. I always admired him that he would never allowed himself or others to take themselves too seriously. I had the pleasure to work with you Dad at both Hillard Lexus and Park Place Lexus. He helped me so much as a young manager. We would go for walks around the dealership and he would share his experiences with the Fort Worth clientele and their customer experience expectations. He seemed to know everyone that walked to the door. He had clothed most of them for almost 2 decades. You could tell the respect and fondness they had for him from their stories, laughs and many hugs he got when they walked in the door. He always shared with me who they were, their history and was always quick to introduce me to them. We remained in touch over the years after I left Park Place. I was touched deeply when he was the very first to call me and welcome me on my return to Park Place 10 years later.
He was so proud of both of you and he lit up when I would ask to be caught up on his kids and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with him. Just a real special, kind and sincere person. God be with you and wrap his arms around you tonight and in the days to come. I hope that the many great memories you made with your Dad will lift your spirits. Your Dad lives in you both and your children and you will notice it more and more every day.
My deepest condolences,
Zane Gober and family

There are no words to help ease the pain of the loss of your Dad, Mike. There are so many cherished memories of Mike through the years from the summers of spending time on Lake Worth to all of the wonderful times he has spent with you, Robyn, Chase and his beautiful grandchildren to hold on to. Such a great Dad and Grandfather. I pray that these memories will help ease your broken hearts. May God wrap his loving arms around you and help comfort you. All our love, Krystal and David
