Aaron Rieck Obituary
1988 - 2018
Aaron Matthew Rieck, age 30, born March 27, 1988, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Kobacker House peacefully with his family by his side after a four year battle with Synovial Sarcoma. Aaron is survived by his wife, Carrie (Bushong) Rieck; his parents, David and Eva Marie Rieck; and his sister, Catherine of Lakewood, Ohio. Aaron graduated from Ohio University in 2010 with bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Information Technology. He was employed as an application support manager at JPMorgan Chase Co. Aaron lived life to the fullest. He was a faithful Columbus Blue Jacket fan, and a closet Indianapolis Colts fan. He loved snowboarding, surfing, cycling, softball, volleyball, fishing, playing his guitar, and most of all, making memories with Carrie, the love of his life, as well as his two Jack Russell terriers, Carlos Danger and Sadie. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2017, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1420 Grandview Avenue, Columbus. Private family inurnment. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to Pelotonia, 351 W. Nationwide Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43215 (http://pelotonia.org/donate/). Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

To the Rieck family, so very sad to hear of Aaron's battle with this devastating disease. My heart is breaking for all of you. Many fond memories of the boys fill my thoughts. We were all blessed to have him touch our lives with his silly smile after doing something to make everyone laugh. Dear Eva, Tim and I are sending our love and understanding of how you are feeling right now. Our Terry passed while at Kobacker House. They were wonderful to him in his last days. Terry's brother and sister were broken hearted as we were. So we moved to Phoenix to be closer to them. What an example of how to live your life to the fullest! Truly an amazing human being. My favorite memory of Aaron was being at the St. Patrick's Church yearly carnival and my high school boyfriend and I were looking at the baked goods and Aaron snuck up behind us and exclaimed Christ Cake! He scared us but it was such a funny surprise we laughed so hard. I feel so fortunate that I had the time I had with him. I know anyone that came across his path feels the same. I am so sorry to his family and dear friends that are hurting right now, he will be missed so deeply by so many. Until we meet again Aaron, save some Christ Cake for me! Love you!!
