It is impossible to overstate the influence A.J. and Janet Campbell had n their lives, on their family, friends, and larger community and world. Though I am hopelessly biased as their daughter, I am still attuned to the good they did, treating patients including many unable to pay, volunteering I where they saw need, and approaching life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. Whether working together in Sedalia or in a slum in Mexico, they had fun, and filled others with that positivity. Our Dad saved lives of people doing significant drugs, many of whom didn´t even realize how close they´d come to death; he took courses on managing overdoses in an out-of-state program prior to the 1974 music festival,, becoming an early user of Narcan, as but one of many ways he sought to. serve and help.
With friends spread around the country and around the world, he and Mom gave me a love of travel and an interest in people. The ethic of service set an example for my brother, AJ and me, and for both of my children, Avery J Campbell and Aiden E Lefebvre, now in their first years of medical school. Thank you, Dad and Mom, for all of that.

Janet & A.J. blessed me with more joyful memories than I can count. An early favorite one was riding back & forth to M.U. in A.J's ancient black model A or model T car when we were in school.
The most beautiful thing he did for me was to bring Janet into our lives She was my close friend & comforter for 50 years. Luckily A.J. & my husband, Charlie, were compatible so we had many a merry time together during those 50 years!
I am so grateful for their friendship & the richness they added to our lives. They were a precious asset to me & to all their many friends & patients. They will live on in so many hearts!

We are so grateful to have such a loving community of support in our Dad, AJ's, passing, and to have had his life of kindness and service as the standard by which we can measure our own. Dad would help anyone; put others first in his personal life as well as his practice; and he believed always in the fundatmental goodness of other people. His legacy is is the life he led and the people who have been touched by his kindness and service.
