Just learned of her passing and it touched me deeply. She was the only art teacher I had growing up in West Jefferson and I was one of the few students who insisted on "majoring" in art. Needless to say, our relationship was special. Her teaching encompassed so much more than just art and her kindness, patience and guidance helped me learn to express myself creatively. I am fortunate to have learned from the best.

I am so sorry for your loss. She was my favorite teacher. I was fortunate to have her as a teacher all 12 years I attended West Jefferson schools. She will be greatly missed.

I was really sad to hear of your loss. I remember the wonderful stories you shared about your mom. I remember you telling me that she was an art teacher. From reading the comments about your mom, she appears to have inspired the lives of so many. She will continue to live on in our hearts.

A loss of one's mother is, I think, one of the most difficult to bear. May you have peace in knowing she is in the comfort of God's arms. I know she was special to you both, as I'm sure you were to her. Our prayers are for you and your family.

I can still remember the care you gave your Mother, she was always ever present in your mind and if she had a need you responded with great love. My sincere condolences to you and your family on your loss. I too had Mrs. Audet for art class at West Jefferson and still have a couple of the projects I made. She was such a talented artist and teacher and always made it known "there were no mistakes when producing art."

I graduated from West Jefferson in 1977 and your mother was a favorite teacher of mine. Mrs. Audet was such a gentle and kind person. In the years since I have thought of her many times. To this day when I get a whiff of paint or clay it reminds me of walking into her classroom, my favorite place to be in school. Her legacy is left in the countless students she inspired. I still treasure the charm she gave me when I graduated.

I attended West Jefferson High School, graduating in 1980, and was in several classes that Mrs. Audet taught. She was the greatest! I've thought of her a lot over the years and to this day, I am creating art with the techniques and knowledge I obtained in her classes. I feel very privileged to have known her.

Intelligent, kind, gentle, great wit, caring, patient, wise, humble - each one of these words brings up a memory of Barbara Audet. Aunt to my wife Susan, Mother of my wife's counsin's and great friends John (Kandy)Audet and Jim (Teresa) Audet - she made you feel at home and had the ability to educate you on the family tree - we love you and will miss you.

Barbara Audet was not only the best Mother-In-Law a person could have but she was one of the most kindest, precious people I have ever known. She was so kind that the first dinner I ever had at her house, she served asparagus which I couldn't stand but did not have the heart to tell her so I gulped it down quickly just to get it down so from that day on she thought I loved asparagus. Guess what we had for dinner everytime I was there?!
My precious Mother-in-Law will live forever in my heart.
