D. Dane Beekman

BEEKMAN D. Dane Beekman, age 63, a life long resident of Columbus, died Saturday, November 28, 2009. He was a 1964 graduate of Linden McKinley High School where he played football and attended then The Ohio State University, a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. While in college he worked for Shoppers Charge where he met his wife Anna. They were married in November 1969. He left college to work with his father at Beck's Waterproofing, becoming a partner and then owner. It is the longest running waterproofing business in Columbus. When his children were younger he loved coaching them in soccer and softball. He liked going to Las Vegas, hunting, fishing and Buckeye games. He was quick witted, liked Motown, steak, Pepsi and dancing. He will be missed as a father and for his friendship. He is preceded in death by his parents James and June Beekman and his wife Anna in 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Angela (Ronald) Spear, Dana Beekman, Andrea Beekman (Michael Jackson); two grandchildren, Mitchell and Bailey Spear. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
