Duane Ephriam "Sonny" Knupp

Knupp Duane Ephriam "Sonny" Knupp, passed away at his home July 14, 2016. He was born September 8, 1929 in New Alexandria, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence Ambrose Knupp and Grace Irene Wigfield, and his sisters Mabel and Jayne. Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ina Ann Knupp; children, Terry (Sarah) Knupp, Larry (Sheila) Knupp, Laurie Salo, Linda (Kent) Seamons, Karen (Neil) Dover, Dean (Lisa) Knupp; grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan (Katrina), Sara, Christopher (Brittany), Lucas (Erin), Alex D., Eric (Alejandra), Trisha, Alex H., Ben, Brian, Daniel, Maria, Noah; and nine great grandchildren; siblings, Claire, Alberta, and Allan; and many loving nieces and nephews. Sonny attended Military Police School and enlisted in the United States Army in Bremerhaven, Germany from 1948 until his Honorable Discharge in 1952. After serving his country he worked for General Motors until his retirement. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 969. Sonny had many hobbies including; fishing, camping, the great outdoors, working on mechanical things, finding antique tools going to the flea markets. Sonny was always early to rise and early to bed. He was a strong role model, leader, reliable, patient and hardworking family man. Whether it was at work, with his family or after his retirement, he will be remembered for his integrity, sacrifice, unselfish leadership, quiet sense of humor and his unending dedication to his wife Ina and his family. Visitation will be held at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City Ohio from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 1 p.m. Monday July 18, 2016. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation of Ohio.
