Thank you Eddie for being the man and friend you were to me and my family. From one Naval Veteran to another, "Anchors Aweigh" and safe travels. Playing the Navy Hymn, "Eternal Father, Strong to Save".

Eddie was a great man, he loved our mother and he loved us. He never attempted to be more than he was, a gentle and kind man. He made our mother happy and her children feel at home whenever we were around. He is sadly missed. Rest in Peace, Eddie.

I was very sad to hear about this news. Mr. Cobb was one of my favorites at the credit union, and he will be greatly missed!! Praying for all of the family at this time, and hoping that the good memories will keep you smiling.

Eddie never said he was our father, nor did he ever say that is wasn't, but his actions sure proved different because he was always good to our mother, Barbara "Barb" Cobb, and her five kids. Eddie was that kind of person, a man. Never did I ask him for anything, but I knew that if I ever had to, he was there for me and my family. And I'm sure he was like that to my brothers and sisters; Sheila, Mychael Todd, Angela, and Marc, who was his "Running Bubby". Eddie served in the Navy and maybe deep down inside was why I first joined that particular branch of service. Later followed him and mom into the masonic family. Eddie will be dearly missed; however, we who have been changed, know he is okay and already with the Great Creator. My deepest condolences to our families as we recall and remember his love for his family and friends, which he showed no favoritism. Psalms 133. Edwin (Pam) & Family

They have passed into the light which is beyond the valley of the shadow of death. The places that have known them shall know them no more: but their virtues are written upon the tablets of love and memory.

Eddie will always be that man who my mother loved and married. Eddie the man who always enjoyed Sunday dinners and a good libation. We could depend on Eddie, we respected Eddie and felt safe knowing he was near. His best friend Sam & Tosca will always bring me memories of the after-party Ball's at our home on Pontiac. They left the house dressed like Kings & Queens headed to a Royal court, the men wore white tuxedos and the women were in full length gowns (Not Dresses). Around 3am when they returned home, with the latest jazz album playing in the background (George Benson) we would listen as we ate whatever Eddie had cooked (peppered Steak) listen to the stories of who showed out at the Sheraton Hotel, who was being voted in or out, and how nice the event was, and what city the next Ball was in. I would watch mom as she waited on Eddie- they would snuggle and sneak kisses in- that made me smile. In my life I was able to see how responsible men took care of business and when I needed confirmation on how it looked and what it consisted of, I am able to look back on these role models, process my options, and pull from those positive examples, and I begin to build a thought process that honors those teachers, Eddie was one of them. Eddie was unique, I never thought of him as a stepfather- although he was. I simply thought of him just as Eddie, a good dude.
Rest in Perfect Peace Soldier & Job Well Done.

I always refereed to Eddie as Eddie. It was just the way our friendship was created. I knew he was my mothers boyfriend and eventually her husband and it lasted all the way into friendship. They remained friends to he end and my mother was actually in the room with Eddie when he took his last breath, thanks to modern technology. I trusted him, felt safe whenever he was around and I respected him. Eddie was a good man. A mason and a military man. The Cobb family was a close family and well respected. Eddie had a close friend name Sam, and when Eddie, Sam and Tosca showed up at our home on Pontiac we had the best of times, good food, music, and laughter. I know they are joined in HEAVEN rejoicing. I never got the chance to tell Eddie how much I loved him- "I LOVED HIM, JUST BECAUSE". Eddie came into both our lives- my mother and mine as a Godsend, and for that alone I'm thankful. I believe GOD does everything according to HIS plan, and that we are nothing more than vessels that are used to create goodwill. Eddie was a good vessel. So long for now old soldier and rest in perfect peace. MYCHAELTODD

To the family of Mr. Cobb ... I am sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed listening to Mr. Eddie's tales of growing up in Columbus. He painted a very colorful picture of The Good Old Days.
