Faye Joan Murphy Jacob

Jacob Faye Joan Murphy Jacob, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2014, at her home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, her family by her side. Born November 19, 1930, in Asheville, Ohio, she was 83. She was preceded in death by her parents Nolan E. Murphy and Hazel Brown Murphy, as well as her brother Neil J. Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Merlin H. Jacob, they would have been married 62 years on Valentine's Day; sons, Michael N. Jacob (Darlene) of Traveler's Rest, SC, Frederick M. Jacob (Tamaria) of Marysville, Ohio; and daughter, Karen J. Jacob of Loganville, GA; grandchildren, Shannon Dobda (Chad) of Gainesville, GA, Matthew Jacob of Manhattan, NY, Holly Zimmerman (Jonathan) of West Mansfield, Ohio, Sarah Jacob of Dublin, Ohio and Christopher Jacob of Marysville, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anna Kate and Caroline Dobda of Gainesville, GA and Abigail, Rebecca, Katelyn and Jeremiah Zimmerman of West Mansfield, Ohio; and by loved nephews and nieces. Faye was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family with a passion. She was a good Christian woman who turned to the Lord in times of trouble. She loved to play bridge, travel, walk on the beach or in the mountains, and be with her family. A person who focused on others, she had a sure sense of self and dignity that reflected her strength of character. The endless memories she created will sustain her family for the rest of our lives, as does our assurance of her heavenly home. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Cannon UMC, 2424 Webb Gin House Road, Snellville, GA 30078.
