Dear Russell, Val and family,

I am very sorry to hear about the loss your father. I can't really refer to Hank as "father in-law" because of the endearing way Russell always spoke about him. Russell always said that Hank was like a father to him in many ways. I know how difficult it is to let go of our loved ones and the hurt you must feel. May God give you the strength to sustain you all through this time of sorrow. Please take comfort in the fact that your family and friends will keep you in their thoughts and prayers.

Hank was well-known at Don Gentile Post 532 for his sense of humor and his great stories. One year he wrote a Christmas story for us and we were amazed at his writing talent. He was truly a hero to those of us who knew him and he will be greatly missed by all of us. We truly loved Hank. It is because of veterans like Hank who gave to our country that caused me to work so hard for our veterans. Gladys Caudill, 12th District Auxiliary President
