I knew Jimmy through my boyfriend, Chad. They worked together at Red Lobster, and were inseperable for a good year or two. I didn't get particularly close to him personally, mostly because I had a giant crush on him and didn't want to make that kinda thing too obvious. What a cute boy. :-) I've lived in Arizona all summer, and got the news as soon as I touched down in Ohio again. My heart goes out to all his family and friends.

Gaye, Steve, and Lisa,
When I think of Jimmy I am reminded of his smile, jokes, and friendly nature. My favorite memory of Jimmy was during his senior year playing soccer at Westerville South. The team was heading toward Toledo and one of the "starters" wasn't wearing dress slacks that were required for traveling games. Rather than have the team suffer from a missing valuable player, Jimmy offered his own pants to his teammate because he felt the team needed the other player more than they needed him. After taking him back home, Gaye drove him to the game in his father's dress slacks that didn't quite fit. This simple gesture of kindness and selflessness showed that Jimmy was an incredibly special young man.
I am so sad to hear of your tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with your family today and through the coming months.

Jimmy was the nicest young man. I have many good memories working with him. I remember a time I was really sick and there was nobody willing to work for me, someone later agreed to. I found out later Jimmy paid that person 20$ to work for me since he could not himself. He was so thoughtful and kind.I am blessed to have known him. My heart goes out to his loved ones.

Steve-
I believe you are the same Steve Clapp I worked with at MPW. I am so, so sorry for the loss of your son. Ironically, I was reading the obituraries to view that of my husband, John who we also lost way too early. Steve, I've read some of the notes and know your son was a wonderful person. I know John will take care of him. Feeling your pain,

Dear Clapp Family,
I am a stranger to you, yet I feel compelled to write you a note. I had the pleasure of sitting next to Jimmy at the 2007 Little Brown Jug. He reminded me of my son (looks, humor, personality) and it didn't take long before we were joking with each other. Jimmy helped make my first and only "Jug" experience enjoyable. As well as with many other people who knew Jimmy, he left a favorable impression on me. He was a nice, pleasant, fun-loving and courteous young man.
I can't even imagine the pain you must be feeling at this time, but I hope the words and love from family, friends and strangers, help you cope. I pray God gives you strength in the times ahead. You are in my heart and prayers.

To the Clapp Family,
I am so saddened by your loss. Gaye I haven't talked to you in such a long time and when I heard about your son I just couldn't believe it! You taught me lots of great things about parenting by your stories of your children. Even though I never met your them I felt like I did by the way to talked about them. May God be with you and your family during this difficult time, and help you through this when there are so many questions why. Have faith, and let your memories help you through the upcoming days. God bless you!

Dear Clapp Family,
I worked with Jimmy at Panera Bread and I called him "pretty boy" - he was always combing his hair and checking his looks - he made me laugh! Hearing of his passing, brought me to reflect today and I prayed for you and for Jimmy.

Gaye, Steve & Lisa,
We are deeply saddened to hear of your loss of Jimmy. Our family heard Jimmy stories often from Mary as they traveled from Annehusrt through South together. Jan & I recalled reading in one of Mary's Annehurst journals where the teacher posed the question "what makes you laugh" and Mary's answer was "Jimmy Clapp". The Roederer Family's thoughts and prayers are with you.
