Dear
Hilda,
I am so sorry, I missed the notice of John's death in the paper. I would have been at the church. Buck sent the notice to our class and I read it today. I hope you are alright. As you know, you have been
in my thoughts and I am interested in getting together. Please call
when you are able. You have my number. The John we all knew and loved will be missed.

Hilda,
I was saddened to hear of John's death. I can still remember his teaching English at UAHS in the early 60s and of course when he and I took a church group to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I will miss him. He always made it a point of saying hello in church to his many friends. I'm sorry to have missed the memorial service. Our prayers are with you and John and family.

Hilda, Carol, Mark and Mary:
I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I have many great memories of him, from Hilltop Church to summer jobs painting swimming pools and working the book fair at the High School. He helped teach me that Christianity can be culturally subversive and intellectually challenging!
He and all of you are in my prayers and thoughts.

Dear Hilda and Family -
The joys in John's life will remain with us. He shared his love of learning with us all. His passion for music, for his garden, for sharing just one more book with us - will be long remembered. Stephen Ministry training, catering, the choir trips to Europe, and work on the Department for Church and Ministry are places our lives touched. Hilda - your smiling eyes and loving decisions surely made his last months easier.
My love to you all.
