I had the honor of serving with Joe at Fort Polk in 2004-2005. Joe was an excellent senior officer and a caring and compassionate leader. He left US too soon and we will miss him.

Shocked and sad to hear this news. Years ago I spent a lot of time with Joe. Our kids played soccer together and we hung out after football games. Joe and I played basketball at Seton Parish and often rode bikes together, he even gave me a bike that I still have. I saw Joe at the gym about a year and a half ago, we chatted and shared a few laughs. He looked like the Joe I remember, always smiling. Rest in peace my old friend. God bless you and your family.

Rest In Peace brother! Thinking of the times we had late night in Arlington out at Mr.Days and Osullivans. The fact that you never told me about your illness the last time we spoke speaks volumes about your character! Next time I'm out with the boys we will raise a pint for you! Rest easy
