Kenneth Eugene Herr

HERR Kenneth Eugene Herr, 81, of Marysville, formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio and Bonita Springs, Florida, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at The Gables of Green Pastures. A former manager of AAA in Bridgeport, Ohio, he retired in 1998 as manager of the Hickory Harbour Condominiums in Bonita Springs. During the 1950's, he and his wife owned the Ken-Mar gas station in Martins Ferry. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines, having served during WW II. A member of the Benevolent and Protected Order of Elks in Martins Ferry, he was a past exalted ruler. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was born September 8, 1925, in New Kensington, PA, to the late Walter and Mildred Herr. He was predeceased by his wife Erma Herr, a brother Bill Herr, and a sister Katherine Monahan. He is survived by a son, Kenneth J. (Denise) Herr of Galloway; two daughters, Penny (Chris) Rade and Nancy (Rich) Weiskircher, both of Marysville; six grandchildren, Kayne and Kwynn Herr, Brett and Chad (Stephanie) Bowman, Shae (Drew) Sakach and Kyle Weiskircher; a brother, Gordon (Eddie) Herr of Reading, PA; a brother-in-law, John Benning of Martins Ferry; a sister-in-law, Esther (Bill) Edler of Fairborn; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2007, at UNDERWOOD FUNERAL HOME in Marysville with Rev. Warren Reichert officiating.
