Kenneth Ross Obituary

ROSS Kenneth Paul Ross, age 57. Born June 1, 1951 in Columbus, Oh. Passed away peacefully at home in Seattle on January 28, 2009 after a long series of illnesses, surrounded by his devoted life partner, family and friends. Ken was a 1969 graduate of Upper Arlington High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Theater Arts and Pre-Medicine from Ohio State, a Masters of Theology from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. He was licensed as a psychologist in the States of California and Washington. Between 1982 and 1990, Ken worked in the community mental health system in Los Angeles and had a private practice in Beverly Hills. He was elected president of the Los Angeles Society of Clinical Psychologists in 1990. Ken was a member of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, the American Psychological Association, and the Washington State Psychological Association. From 1991 to 1993 Ken was East Region Director for United Behavioral Health in Philadelphia, and then in 1993 relocated to Seattle as the Director of the UBH-King County Medicaid Management Care Project. Preceded in death by dear friend and soul mate Shelle Crosby of Seattle and formerly of Dayton. Survived by life partner, John E. Garlick of Seattle; and parents, Glenn and Barbara Ross; sister, Judith Ross Blum; brother, Randall A. Ross (Gail Mezey); and brother, Ronald Ross (Dushka Crane-Ross), all of Upper Arlington; as well as numerous adoring nieces and nephews and dear friends. Ken's outrageous wit, wicked sense of humor, and zest for life will be sorely missed by all of those he touched.
