Leo "Jody" Flautt

FLAUTT Leo "Jody" Flautt, 82, of Somerset, died at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Fairfield Medical Center. Jody was born June 30, 1924 in Zanesville, the son of the late Charles and Marie Noll Flautt. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, and was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Essex. He was employed by Belden Brick Co. for 30 years and Central Silica for ten years, and was a Village of Somerset employee during his retirement. Surviving are three daughters, Sue Ann (Dave) Wamer of Somerset, Lucinda (Larry) Hines of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Patricia "Trish" (Jeff) Cooperrider of Thornville; four sons, Jack (Joann) Flautt of Houston, TX, Paul "P.J." (Sherri) Flautt of Pickerington, Gregg Flautt of Somerset and Todd (Melissa) Flautt of Plano, TX; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcella "Sally" Fleer of Zanesville; and one brother, Martin (Carol) Flautt of Granville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Margaret Rose "Peg" Kelly Flautt, February 13, 1996, two sisters Helen and Wilma Flautt and one brother John Flautt. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006 at the BOPE-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME in Somerset, where vigil service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Friday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Tony Breen as celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Gene Dawson. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or School.
